EverEdge Garden Rings
Our Garden Rings can be used to make a circular edge around trees, statues, water features and garden beds.
$77.00 – $116.00
They allow young trees and shrubs to become established. The rings prevent grass runners invading the area around the tree, they keep in mulch and provide protection from mowing damage and soil compaction around the roots.
600mm Diameter (2 Lengths)
900mm Diameter (3 Lengths)
- EverEdge Garden Rings are made from galvanized and black powder coated steel or from Cor-Ten steel
- The pre-curved rings are available in the 125mm height with a 1.6mm gauge
- EverEdge Garden Rings come in packs of two or three single metre lengths
- Rings with a 600mm diameter use two EverEdge single metre lengths
- Rings with a 900mm diameter use three EverEdge single metre lengths
- Rings with a 1200mm diameter use four EverEdge single metre lengths (note: these lengths must be from a 900mm diameter pack as the 600mm diameter packs are curved too tightly)
- Rings with a 1500mm diameter use five EverEdge single metre lengths (note: these lengths must be from a 900mm diameter pack as the 600mm diameter packs are curved too tightly)
- Spikes are 95mm long (six spikes per metre length)
- Weights are 3.3kgs for the pack of two lengths and 5kgs for the pack of three lengths
Garden rings can be formed by curving any number of EverEdge single metre lengths.
However, for the smaller diameter rings – which can be harder to form by hand – we have lengths that are already pre-curved. These rings are the 600mm diameter (which uses two lengths of EverEdge) and the 900mm diameter (which uses three lengths). The lengths are simply joined together using the coach bolts provided which are inserted through the pre-drilled holes.
For rings with a 1200mm diameter (which uses four lengths) and a 1500mm diameter (which uses five lengths) the pre-curved 900mm diameter lengths can be used. During installation the curves can be stretched out to form the larger ring.
PLEASE NOTE: It isn’t possible to use the pre-curved pieces of the 600mm diameter ring to make a larger circle (the curve is too tight and can’t be stretched out). For circles using four or five pre-curved pieces ONLY use the 900mm diameter pieces.
For rings with a diameter of more than 1500mm it is easy to flex the standard straight lengths of EverEdge to form a curve and then slot them together to create the circle.
To calculate the number of lengths required, measure the circumference of the circle and then add 6% to allow for the overlap as each EverEdge length joins the next.
FAQs
“How do I install the EverEdge Garden Rings?”
EverEdge garden rings are hammered into the ground in exactly the same way as the EverEdge single metre lengths – using a rubber or wooden hammer. Each ring pack includes a printed installation guide or watch the installation video on this page.
“How do I shape the ring?”
Because EverEdge is flexible the shape can be flexed to match the circle required. When using the curved lengths it is easy to stretch the curves to form the circular shape. For the larger circles with more than a five metre circumference the straight lengths are simply flexed to form the curve.
“Should I join the pieces together before I install the ring?”
The ring is assembled using the bolts and nuts provided. The pieces can be joined together to form the ring and then slid over the tree or, if the tree is too high to do this, the pieces can easily be joined around the tree.
“How do I calculate how many pieces I need to make a circle?”
Measure the diameter required and then multiply by 3.14 to calculate the circumference. Once this measurement has been confirmed add 6% to allow for the EverEdge overlap. For circumferences of more than 5metres use the EverEdge straight metre lengths.
“Will the tree roots be damaged during installation?”
Each length of EverEdge has six spikes that are 95mm long. The spikes are spaced evenly along the EverEdge length. The ring should be positioned so that the spikes avoid any large roots. However, if some spikes end up piercing a root this should not cause major damage as the spikes are narrow and the roots will continue to grow around them.
